What This Blog Is:
This blog is for anyone whose busy-ness has choked the life out of a writing dream.
10MinuteWriter.com is here to encourage, challenge and inspire the frustrated. Somewhere in your day there are little pockets of time for you to do what you love. Let’s find them and get to work!
Each short post may include time management tips, writing exercises, book recommendations or words of encouragement. This is for nearly any type of writer: Poet, Novelist, Essayist, Short Story writer, fiction, non-fiction, girl, boy, Mac user, PC user, left brain or right brain.
What This Blog Is Not: This is not a place to find writing jobs, publish a poem, look for an agent or pitch an idea. There are plenty of places to do that (of which I might mention later). This is not a place to argue whether or not J.K. Rowling is overrated. (Also, lots of places there, too.) This is not a place to ask, “Is this good?” (For that, either take a class, hire an editor or call your Mama.)
I am not a writing expert. I don’t have a long list of published works of which someone could easily be intimidated. I am just an average person, possibly a step or two ahead of a reader. But I’ve made time in my busy life to do what I love. I’ve learned a few tricks along the way on how to do this and I’m excited to share them. I plan on only spending about 10-20 minutes of my time per post so that I can run my life and work on my novel. I do practice what I preach.
So, if you have a dream (and ten minutes) please join me and comment positively.
